Jeff Olshane started with VTAC in 2002 as a Director. Jeff was elected as President in 2005 and is still sitting as President. Jeff started the Car Show with the Safety Fair 4 years ago. He also tries to keep Sober Graduation funded each year because he believes “We need to educate the young since they will be leading later”. Jeff is a retired helicopter pilot from a local police department and is currently working to become current with flying fixed wing and helicopters. Jeff owns and operates a screen printing business specializing in t-shirt printing and compliments that with signs and banners. Jeff also works for Keystone Towing, a police impound garage, as a manager and liaison between Keystone and LAPD.
Jeff was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and has seen first hand how traffic safety has changed. With the student driving, education and training program virtually eliminated from almost ALL high schools, our young adults just don’t have the driving education, instruction and training they used to be required to take in the years past to become a licensed driver. Without this basic foundation that was taught in the schools, they just lack the discipline that was taught.
Jeff is now dedicated himself with his extra time to do his part in striving for safer streets in the San Fernando Valley in regards to traffic and pedestrian safety. Jeff’s future efforts in 2010 will be directed more towards the street racing problem we have in the SFV. Our young adults have had tragic results in the last few years with our street racing problems. Jeff also has quoted “Street racing is not cool, it’s deadly.” |
